Significant revisions to the LGCPA in 1985 and 1986 (known as the Growth Management Act) have added additional requirements for a more detailed and systematic approach to local planning. In addition to State Acts, the State of Florida Department of Community Affairs issued minimum criteria for plan compliance in Rule 9J-5 of the Florida Administrative Code. Additional modifications to State requirements were introduced in 2005 through Senate Bill 360. The Comprehensive Plan for the City of Oakland Park has been prepared relative to the State Growth Management Act and Rule 9J-5, as revised. It is designed to provide a guide for the future physical economic and social development of the City of Oakland Park. Plan Content and Format The Comprehensive Plan has been prepared in three volumes. The first volume is proposed to be adopted by the City Commission. Volume I consists of goals, objectives and policies of the City’s Comprehensive Plan, plus sections on Land Use Implementation, and Monitoring and Evaluation. Volume II contains supporting information and background material for the goals, objectives and policies of the Comprehensive Plan This volume is not proposed to be adopted by the City Commission. This document contains all the Elements required by Rule 9J-5. The purpose of Volume III of the City of Oakland Park Comprehensive Plan is to compile all of the maps associated with the plan in a single document, for ease of use by the public and ease of comprehensive plan maintenance for City staff as the plan is amended in the future. Volume III consists of maps that are officially adopted by the City Commission, in particular the Future Land Use Map, and maps that serve a support documents for the goals, objectives and policies in the plan. )I95NW31STAVENE6THAVENANDREWSAVENW 9 TH AVE NW21ST AVENE 62ND STNE 56THSTNE26THSTWCOMMERCIALBLVDWOAKLANDPARKBLVDWPROSPECT RDWCYPRESSCREEKRDNE 18TH AVE ECOMMERCIALBLVDN FEDERAL HWY N DIXIE
